Saga Systems began from a simple, but difficult question:
How do we make sense of what works when everything is connected, and nothing stands still?
In evaluation, we often begin with a logic model, a timeline, and a clear set of questions. But once we're on the ground, there are always more moving parts.
Every person and every dataset has a story. Experiences and outcomes are shaped by the systems people move through: health services, funding models, policies, social expectations, and environments.
It's not just about what changed, but how, why, and under what conditions. And once we understand those conditions, we can start to see the system itself, not as something static, but as something that can shift, evolve, and be reshaped from within. It's also acknowledging that we can't see all of the influencing factors.
That's where Saga comes in. Our vision is to support decisions that are grounded in evidence, shaped by lived experience, and responsive to the systems in which they sit.
The name Saga reflects the importance of stories that are layered, personal, and evolving. In Norse tradition, a saga is a tale of journeys, choices, and consequences. It's a fitting metaphor for evaluation: a practice that traces complexity, uncovers meaning, and finds stories in lived experience, data, and patterns.
Our symbol, the interwoven knot, represents the connection between people, processes, and outcomes. It's a reminder that systems aren't linear; they're messy, adaptive, and deeply human. The more you pull on one thread, the more the others shift. But with care, patterns emerge.
At Saga Systems, we help organisations find those patterns and make meaning from them to support decision-making.
