A two-part, 90-minute advisory session designed to bring clarity in decision making.
The Saga Sense-Making Session offers a structured approach to discuss a program, service, or evaluation support question when things feel unclear or when you're uncertain about where to begin.
This session is beneficial if you:
- Aren’t sure where to start with evaluation
- Don’t know what questions to ask
- Have evidence or feedback that seems unclear or incomplete
- Are required to demonstrate impact but are unsure of what’s reasonable
- Want to think critically before commissioning a larger piece of work
How it works
The focus is on sense-making: creating space to navigate context, highlight what matters, and clarify what type of evidence or next steps would be genuinely useful.
The session consists of two meetings (available in person or online):
- Session 1 (30 minutes): an overview of your program or service, the context you are operating in, and the questions or decisions you are facing.
- Session 2 (60 minutes): a deeper advisory conversation centered on sense-making. We delve into what seems to be happening, explore various ways to frame or evaluate the situation, and consider what types of questions, frameworks, theories of change, evidence, or tools might be beneficial, given your context and constraints.
Sessions are typically scheduled within a week of each other.
What you’ll leave with
- A clearer understanding of what’s happening
- Increased confidence about what matters right now
- A better sense of whether further evaluation or support is necessary
Practical details
- Two sessions (90 minutes total)
- Suitable for individuals or small groups
